The University of Kansas School of Medicine Program offers a competitive three-year ACGME-approved Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery fellowship program that accepts one resident per year. The program provides comprehensive training in cardiothoracic surgery, including exposure to advanced procedures such as robotic mitral valve repair, hybrid cardiac revascularization, heart failure management, ECMO, TEVAR, percutaneous aortic and pulmonary valve replacement, VATS and robotic lobectomy, and minimally invasive esophagectomy. The faculty and physician extenders support a high-volume, world-class patient care environment while emphasizing the personal needs of both trainees and patients.
