University of Rochester Program

The Child Neurology Residency Program at the University of Rochester is highly praised for its close-knit environment that prioritizes the success, professional development, and well-being of its residents. Application to the program requires submission through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). For the 2023-2024 Match, the program is accepting applications for 3 categorical positions, which integrate two years of pediatric training and three years of child neurology training at the University of Rochester. The program does not consider applications from foreign medical graduates who are not ECFMG certified at the time of application and only sponsors J-1 Visas.

Interviews for invited applicants are conducted virtually on Mondays for Child Neurology and Tuesdays for Pediatrics from October through January. The virtual interview days include electronic materials, live sessions with residents and faculty, orientation meetings, tours, and individual interviews.

The curriculum of the Child Neurology residency program at the University of Rochester is designed to provide residents with a flexible training experience tailored to individual interests, focusing on areas like Research, Practice, Education, or Global Health. The program offers a unique non-American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) track for the PGY-2 year, allowing residents to immerse themselves in child neurology earlier in their training.
