The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) Emergency Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment for residents, rooted in integrity, humility, and compassion. Curriculum

Research Opportunities

Application Requirements

To apply for the Emergency Medicine Residency at UVMMC, candidates must submit applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Key requirements include a completed application, a personal statement, a curriculum vitae, and at least three letters of reference, including a Standardized Letter of Evaluation (SLOE) from an emergency medicine rotation.

It is a prerequisite for applicants to have passed USMLE Step 1 before applying and to have results for either USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX Level 2 completed by January 1. International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must hold a J-1 Visa, possess a current ECFMG certification, and have graduated from medical school within the last two years.

Visa Support

The program supports international applicants wishing to apply for the Emergency Medicine Residency through J-1 Visas. Notably, the program does not accept H1B Visas for international medical graduates.
