The Albany Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency program is a three-year ACGME-accredited program that accepts 12 residents per year. It is the busiest emergency department in New York State, with around 76,000 adult visits and 21,000 pediatric visits annually. The program serves a diverse patient population from urban, suburban, and rural regions spread among 25 counties with a three-million person catchment area. The hospital is a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, regional STEMI, and STROKE center.
