The Neurosurgery Residency Program at Albany Medical Center offers comprehensive training covering all aspects of neurosurgical practice. The program requires applicants to have completed medical school within the last three years. They accept U.S. and Canadian medical school graduates, as well as graduates of osteopathic schools in the U.S. International medical graduates must meet specific requirements, including having a J-1 visa or permanent residency. Applicants must apply through the ERAS system, and a personal interview is required for selection.

The Albany Medical College Neurosurgery Residency Program offers a seven-year categorical program, accepting two residents per year. The curriculum includes rotations in clinical neuroscience, surgical critical care, trauma surgery, neuroradiology, and emergency medicine. Residents progress through different levels of responsibilities, including elective years and chief resident roles.
