The University of Washington Program offers a comprehensive Plastic Surgery Integrated residency program. Residents receive training across multiple healthcare settings in the Seattle region, including Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center-Montlake, UW Medical Center-Northwest, Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Seattle Children's Hospital, VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and Valley Medical Center.
Clinical experiences at Harborview Medical Center cover a wide range of plastic surgery areas such as maxillofacial trauma, hand trauma, burns, injuries to the lower extremities and trunk, and microsurgical reconstruction. At UW Medical Center-Montlake, plastic surgeons are involved in oncologic reconstruction, breast reconstruction, general plastic surgical reconstruction, and aesthetic surgery. UW Medical Center-Northwest offers care for hand pathologies, breast and abdominal wall reconstruction, gender affirming surgery, and other reconstructive surgical problems.
The program engages residents in rotations starting from intern level, providing exposure to various surgical services and critical care. Residents attend weekly plastic surgery didactic conferences, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
