UPMC Medical Education Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is designed to develop the next generation of clinicians and physician-scientists who will lead in various aspects of healthcare. To apply, candidates must submit a completed ERAS application, medical school transcript, and USMLE scores (Step 1 and, if available by the time of application, Step 2). Importantly, international medical graduates must have graduated from a recognized medical school within the past five years and typically have prior clinical experience in the United States to be competitive 2. Additionally, a minimum of two letters of recommendation from full-time faculty members is required, preferably from the Department of Medicine.
