The HCA Healthcare Sunrise Health GME/MountainView Program offers a Transitional Year Residency Program located at MountainView Hospital. This program is supported by the HCA GME community and ACGME-accredited programs in Internal Medicine and General Surgery through the Sunrise Health Graduate Medical Education Consortium.

Application requirements for this program include being a U.S. citizen or having permanent resident status, completion of USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 before receiving an interview offer, successfully completing Step 2CK, Step 2CS, or COMLEX Level 2CE and Level 2PE before ranking, and meeting specific score thresholds for USMLE and COMLEX exams. Ideally, applicants should have completed medical school within the past two years. Eligibility for a residency training license in the State of Nevada and passing a mandatory background check are also required.

Residents in this program will have the opportunity to rotate in Internal Medicine (including ICU), General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Ambulatory Care, and various elective rotations, such as Radiology, Anesthesiology, PM&R, Dermatology, Neurology, and Ophthalmology. The curriculum is structured to provide residents with individualized learning opportunities and exposure to different clinical settings.

The program's mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. The faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting residents in their educational journey, emphasizing quality care delivery, cultural inclusivity, and professional growth.

The Transitional Year program at MountainView Hospital aims to offer a rewarding educational experience and clinical exposure to residents aspiring to progress in their medical careers.
