Kaiser Permanente Southern California (Los Angeles) Program

The Diagnostic Radiology program at Kaiser Permanente Southern California (Los Angeles) at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) offers a comprehensive training experience in all subspecialties of Radiology. Residents gain experience in various modalities, including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. There is a specialized Interventional Radiology service where residents gain hands-on experience. Research is integral to the program, with residents completing at least one research project during their residency. The program accepts two residents annually at the intern level through the National Resident Matching Program and does not accept PGY-2 applicants who completed internships elsewhere.

The facility provides a diverse patient population reflective of Southern California. Residents rotate through UCLA, USC, and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. On-call duties are supervised by faculty and staff, including neuroradiologists and interventional radiologists. Residents also receive training in physics and radiation biology to pass the written physics examination of the American Board of Radiology.
