Mass General Brigham Program
Pathology-anatomic and clinical - Boston, MA | ACGME Code: 3002431143
The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Pathology Residency Training Program is undergoing a significant change with the creation of a joint program in partnership with Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). Both institutions have had separate but outstanding pathology training programs for over 50 years, and they are now merging to provide a joint training experience starting in July 2023. The new program, named the Mass General Brigham Pathology Residency Program, is currently awaiting ACGME review.
Residents in this program will split their time between BWH and MGH, with fully merged didactics and conferences at both hospitals. The application process for a residency start date of July 1, 2023, will be through the existing BWH application pathway in ERAS.
Dr. Stephen Black-Schaffer is the Program Director of the MGH Pathology Residency Training Program. The program has consistently been rated as one of the top residency programs in the U.S., and in July 2019, the Mass General Pathology Training Program was ranked #2 in the country by Doximity.
