The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Pathology Residency Training Program offers a joint training experience with Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). This collaboration combines two outstanding pathology training programs in Boston, Massachusetts, both affiliated with Harvard Medical School. For the residency start date of July 1, 2023, applications will be submitted through the existing BWH application pathway in ERAS. Residents in this program will split their time between BWH and MGH, benefitting from integrated didactics and conferences at both institutions. The program is awaiting ACGME review for a new, fully integrated Mass General Brigham Pathology Residency Program.
The MGH Pathology Residency Program is led by Program Director, Stephen Black-Schaffer, MD. The program boasts a top rating in the U.S. and was ranked #2 in the country by Doximity in July 2019.
