Overview

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program, hosted by Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in collaboration with Massachusetts General Brigham, is a distinguished three-year program designed for post-graduate year two (PGY-2) residents. This program is committed to fostering professional growth and enhancing the rehabilitation of individuals.

Program Structure

The PM&R residency is structured over three years, commencing in PGY-2. Throughout the residency, residents are immersed in a series of rotations that enhance their clinical competencies. Residents will meet the ACGME requirements of 12 months of inpatient and 12 months of outpatient experiences. The remaining 12 months include EMGs, consults and elective/ selective rotations.

Didactic Curriculum

The program incorporates a rich didactic curriculum that complements the clinical experience. Residents engage in regular lectures, workshops, and hands-on training that cover a broad spectrum of topics within physical medicine and rehabilitation. This curriculum ensures that residents are well-prepared for clinical practice and board examinations.

Research Opportunities

Spaulding’s residency program provides residents with generous opportunities to engage in research. In additional to regular protected time for residents to participate in research the program also offers a research track for anyone interested in a research career.

Application Process

Applications are accepted exclusively through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Interviews typically take place from October to December, with participation in the National Residency Matching Program to fill available positions.
