The Tufts Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program is a three-year Advanced, ACGME-accredited residency that accepts three candidates annually through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). The program offers well-rounded training to equip future physiatrists for academic or clinical practice. Residents receive one-on-one training with experts in various clinical settings, including Tufts Medical Center, VA Boston Healthcare System, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, New England Spine Center, and Boston Children's Hospital.
Residents gain experience in core subspecialties through rotations that cover areas such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, spasticity management, pediatric rehabilitation, interventional pain, sports medicine (adult and pediatric), electrodiagnostics, neurology, orthopaedics, amputee medicine, and orthotics and prosthetics.
