The Tufts Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency Program offers a comprehensive training experience with a focus on mentorship and collaboration with accomplished orthopaedic specialists. Residents have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members across various subspecialties such as pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine, hand and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle, and more.
Clinical rotations are designed to provide residents with a well-rounded education and hands-on experience at leading academic medical centers in New England. The first year includes a balanced mix of specialty rotations, including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, and various other departments.
The program is known for its supportive faculty who guide residents through their learning and professional development. The training occurs at Tufts Medicine-Affiliated Hospitals, including Tufts Medical Center, New England Baptist Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Orthopaedic Oncology), and Boston Children's Hospital (Pediatric Orthopaedics and Pediatric Orthopaedic Oncology).
For the 2023-2024 recruitment season, all interviews will be conducted virtually, with updated information to be posted on virtual Open Houses and meetings with residents and faculty later in the summer for applicants to learn more about the program.
