The Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency program at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus) is a five-year training program that begins at the PGY-2 level and leads to board eligibility in both diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology. The program offers balanced training in diagnostic radiology subspecialties and robust procedural and clinical training in interventional radiology. It emphasizes close relationships between faculty and residents, extensive interactions with other clinical departments, and gradual progression of responsibility for residents.

The program supports opportunities for basic imaging and translational research, clinical research, and outcomes research. Residents have access to state-of-the-art radiology facilities at various locations, such as NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, and ColumbiaDoctors/NewYork-Presbyterian Imaging outpatient office.

Rotations cover various radiology disciplines including abdominal imaging, breast imaging, cardiovascular, emergency radiology, neurointerventional radiology, and more. There are comprehensive conferences throughout the program years to complement clinical training. The program has specific application requirements, including the completion of an accredited one-year clinical internship, with a preference for a general surgery PGY-1 internship year.

Applications are submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) under NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia campus). Interviews are conducted from November to January, and candidates are encouraged to apply before November 1st due to limited interview spots. Residents enter the program following successful completion of the required clinical internship.
