The Yale-New Haven Medical Center Interventional Radiology program offers extensive and diverse training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. They provide training for academic or private practice interventional radiology and allow residents to apply for dual diagnostic radiology/interventional radiology certification. The program accepts three residents per year through the National Residency Matching Program.

The Integrated IR Residency at Yale is a categorical program that spans 6 years. Residents go through tailored internships, followed by three years of Diagnostic Radiology with dedicated time in Interventional Radiology. The following two years focus on dedicated IR training and offer elective time in various specialties.

For the Independent IR Residency, two residents are accepted per year for one or two-year training. Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited four-year DR program. ESIR is optional and accepted.

Yale IR provides an immersive training experience with hands-on patient care, significant clinic visits, extensive research opportunities, and global outreach. They offer on-call responsibilities at various hospital campuses, starting from IR1 year. Residents engage in education through weekly conferences and lecture series.
