The OhioHealth Doctors Hospital Family Medicine Residency program is committed to training residents in comprehensive family medicine healthcare. Curriculum Highlights: - Residents receive extensive ambulatory training at the Family Practice Center in Grove City, with junior and senior residents seeing patients four to five half-days per week. - In-patient rotation experiences occur at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital and Nationwide Children's Hospital. - The program emphasizes diverse clinical experiences, including in-office procedures like nexplanon and IUD insertions/removals, colposcopy, minor skin procedures, joint injection/aspiration, and cryotherapy. - Residents undertake rotations in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Electives.
Support for Residents: - The program offers protected research time and access to resources at the OhioHealth Research and Innovation Institute. - Pharmacists are available for medicine-list reconciliations and therapeutic questions. - A PCMH Health Coach assists with challenging patient management situations. - Wellness initiatives are in place to support residents' well-being and meet duty-hour regulations. - Residents receive an annual stipend for conference attendance and research expenses. - Community outreach opportunities allow residents to engage in serving diverse patients through projects like the OhioHealth Wellness on Wheels mobile unit.
