The Riverside University Health System Neurosurgery Residency Program is one of the largest AOA-accredited neurosurgery residency programs in the country. Established in 2000, this program offers a comprehensive training experience across multiple hospitals, emphasizing research, academic pursuit, and exposure to various subspecialties within neurosurgery.

The program places a strong emphasis on clinical acumen, with daily bedside teaching, rounds, and ample clinic experience under close faculty supervision. Academic excellence is fostered through didactic teaching sessions, journal clubs, case conferences, and board exam preparation sessions.

Residents at Riverside University Health System have the opportunity to work at various hospitals, including Riverside University Health System - Medical Center, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Redlands Community Hospital, and others. The program is on a 7-year track, with residents progressing through different levels of training and responsibilities.

After completion of the program, residents are encouraged to pursue subspecialty fellowship training, with a track record showing that 100% of graduates have gone on to subspecialization. The primary goal of the program is to produce compassionate and competent mainstream Neurosurgeons with impeccable technical skills, exceptional clinical and surgical judgment, and a passion for life-long learning.
