The Allergy/Immunology Fellowship Program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is a 2-year program designed for physicians who have completed residencies in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or a combination of the two. There are two fully-funded fellowship positions available, with training locations at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, NJ.

Clinical training includes experiences in adult and pediatric allergy & immunology, with rotations at both University Hospital and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The program offers exposure to a wide range of conditions, such as chronic urticaria, drug allergies, hereditary angioedema, and more. Fellows also participate in research projects and are encouraged to attend national meetings and publish their research findings.

The program is ACGME-accredited, and graduates are eligible to take the certification exam offered by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology. Successful graduates have a high passing rate on the certifying exam and have pursued various career paths, including private practice and academic positions.

To apply, candidates must have completed an accredited Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds training program in the US, and hold US citizenship or permanent residency status. The program does not support any visas. Applications are accepted through ERAS, with a deadline of July 31st. Required application materials include ERAS application, Personal Statement, Curriculum Vitae, USMLE scores, and three letters of recommendation. Interview invitations are extended between September and October.
