Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program

Welcome to the Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program at Stony Brook Medicine. This program offers an extensive four-year training experience for residents who have completed their first post-graduate year. The training prepares residents to excel in the field, focusing on patient care, academic growth, and innovative treatment options while working alongside esteemed faculty leaders in Clinical Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics, Translational Research, and Basic Science 1.

The curriculum includes hands-on training with state-of-the-art technologies such as the Edge Radiosurgery System, Truebeam linear accelerators, and the CT-Simulator with 4D CT capabilities. This ensures that residents are well-versed in advanced radiation therapy techniques including HDR brachytherapy and liquid radioisotope therapies, fostering a robust understanding of both theory and application.1

The program features a comprehensive clinical experience primarily centered at Stony Brook Medical Center, with additional exposure available at the newly established Philips Family Cancer Center at Southampton.
