The University of Michigan Program offers an Independent IR Residency Program, which provides in-depth training in image-guided minimally invasive procedures in a clinically-based practice. Trainees will experience a high trainee-to-procedure ratio and will have the opportunity to perform a wide range of vascular and nonvascular procedures under graduated supervision. Procedures include catheter-directed thrombolysis, embolotherapy, stent placement, filter insertion, foreign body removal, and more. Trainees are also encouraged to participate in ongoing clinical and basic research projects.
The program highlights training in Aortic and Arterial Disease, Venous Disease, Interventional Oncology, Lymphatics, Liver Disease and Portal Hypertension, Pediatric Interventions, and Visceral Interventions. The program offers exposure to complex procedures and multidisciplinary clinics.
Applicants must participate in the NRMP's Specialty Matching Services (SMS) to fill ACGME positions. The program requires applications through ERAS.
