The structure of the fellowship includes significant clinical responsibilities. The fellows will:
- Sign out in-house genitourinary pathology cases under faculty supervision.
- Review all genitourinary consultation cases.
- Participate in GU Pathology Consensus Conferences, Journal Club, Academic hour, and tumor boards.
- Gross selected genitourinary oncology specimens.
- Engage in intraoperative consultations.

To be eligible for the Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship, prospective candidates must:
- Complete an ACGME-accredited residency in anatomic pathology.

- Possess eligibility for a training medical license in Texas prior to commencing the fellowship.
