The West Virginia University Pediatric Residency Program, located in Morgantown, offers personalized training at WVU Children's Hospital, a premier facility within Ruby Memorial Hospital. The program provides a well-rounded experience with faculty covering various pediatric subspecialties. The program offers up to 6 PGY-1 positions annually, with applicants required to apply through ERAS by December 1st. The application includes personal statement, USMLE or COMLEX scores, MSPE Dean's Letter, medical school transcript, CV, and three letters of recommendation. There is no minimum score requirement. International Medical Graduates must meet specific criteria and the program only sponsors J1 visas.

Virtual interviews are conducted during the application cycle. The curriculum spans three career tracks: Generalist, Specialist, and Intensivist, with various rotations throughout the PGY-1 to PGY-3 years. Residents have educational opportunities through conferences, simulations, and grand rounds.

The program supports International Medical Graduates, including those interested in the Rural Scholars Program, aimed at increasing pediatricians in rural underserved areas. The interns receive specialized training and stipends.
