The West Virginia University Program in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery provides comprehensive high-quality care in all specialties of ear, nose, and throat disorders. The Department of Otolaryngology has 18 faculty members, 7 advanced practice providers, and 8 audiologists offering services in various subspecialty areas. The faculty includes highly experienced physicians with fellowship training in specialties such as Otology, Robotics surgery, Allergy/Rhinology, Laryngology, Pediatric Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Oncology, Thyroid and Parathyroid disorders, Sleep disorders, Plastics, and Skull base surgery.

The program at West Virginia University offers an exceptional training experience in Otolaryngology specialty. With 16 full-time faculty members representing all sub-specialty areas, residents receive comprehensive training in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. The program does not offer fellowship training, so residents are the first-line care providers for a wide spectrum of cases.

West Virginia University's Otolaryngology program participates in the NRMP match system and accepts applications through ERAS. The application requirements include a current CV, proof of citizenship or immigration status, personal statement, eligibility for medical licensure in West Virginia, and 3 letters of recommendation. The application period typically runs from September 15th through November 30th each year, with interviews conducted in December.

The program admits three residents each year at the start of the new academic year, which is July 1st. During the interview process, candidates have the opportunity to interact with faculty and residents, tour the facilities, and attend a casual dinner.
