Do you want advice as to how best to move forward in your residency journey? Then this session is for you. As an experienced former program director and certified student career and interview coach who has worked with thousands of residents and residency applicants, I am confident I can provide meaningful, strategic advice.
This consultative session is intended for use by those beginning their residency application
journey, those who have started but seek further guidance, and the many applicants who are
considering reapplication after being unsuccessful the first or second time.
Many clients are interested in understanding how they can strengthen their application, while some may not even be certain if they should apply, and if so, to what specialty. Not infrequently, clients seek advice on "red flags" and how to ameliorate them. We will review possible strategies together, looking at the pros and cons of each. I will give you an honest opinion of where I think you stand and what you can do. If there's objective data relevant to a client, I usually try to incorporate it into our session. I have worked with hundreds of IMG candidates and am very familiar with the many challenges often faced.
Comprehensive support for the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program including document polishing, program targeting, and navigating the scramble process if you don't initially match.

This is a complete review of your ERAS application, from start to finish, including Geographic and Setting Preferences, Meaningful Experiences, Academic/Professional Interruptions (if applicable), Impactful Experiences, Hobbies, Licenses & Certifications, Publications, and overall presentation to ensure an error-free submission. It does not include a review of a personal statement.
Whether this is your first time applying for residency or you are reapplying, I am confident I can help you present a professional, polished application. Before our session, you will receive access to the My Application Coach® ERAS Application Worksheet. This user-friendly, web-based form is divided into sections for you to enter your responses. You can save your work and return at any time to continue updating each section. I will also provide written and video guidance for your reference. Once you submit your worksheet, I will review it and make edits based on your submissions.
During our Zoom meeting, we will discuss your work and any editorial suggestions I have made. We will also consider the overall impact of the experiences you have chosen to highlight. Additionally, you will need to upload your actual ERAS Application (in PDF format) to my website’s portal (File Upload) so I can conduct a thorough review of all items, particularly those not included in the worksheet. My goal is to have your ERAS Application fully completed by the end of our session. However, in some cases, a few follow-up emails may be necessary for revisions until your application is finalized. I do not charge for these revisions unless they become excessive.
Learn how to select the right letter writers and approach them effectively. We'll discuss specialty-specific requirements, timing, how to provide helpful materials to your writers, and strategies for securing strong letters that support your application.
