PGY2 Rotations

In the second year, residents will continue to build on their experiences with more outpatient responsibilities:

  • Obstetrics (OB) Track: For residents intending to acquire hospital privileges for labor and delivery.
  • Sports Medicine Area of Concentration: Allows enhanced training in musculoskeletal and sports medicine.
  • Advocacy Area of Concentration: Focuses on health advocacy and community leadership.
  • Osteopathic Recognition: The program offers education in Osteopathic Principles and Practices.

Research and Scholarly Activity

At NHDFMR, residents engage in scholarly activity as part of their training. Application Process and Requirements

  • USMLE or COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2 scores; Step 2 score must be received by November 1 for interview consideration.
  • A maximum of one failure on Step 1 of the USMLE or COMLEX for interview eligibility.
  • A valid ECFMG certificate, if applicable, by the orientation start date.
  • Graduates from medical schools outside the U.S. must meet specific certification requirements.
