The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at David Grant USAF Medical Center is a fully accredited program located at Travis Air Force Base. The program has 12 active duty Air Force physician residents, with class sizes ranging from two to four residents per year. Applicants must be active duty members of the Air Force or in an Air Force medical training program. Selection is made through a tri-service selection board that convenes each Fall.

The program offers inpatient and outpatient imaging services in all modalities to patients eligible for care, including active duty military, eligible dependents, VA beneficiaries, and retirees. They provide and interpret various imaging modalities and offer diagnostic and therapeutic services in Nuclear Medicine and Vascular & Interventional Radiology.

David Grant USAF Medical Center has approximately 16 full-time board-certified staff radiologists with subspecialty training in areas like Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging, and Musculoskeletal Radiology. The program focuses on resident education, patient care, process improvement, and research.

Residents at the program have opportunities for advanced breast and cardiac MRI services and utilize modern imaging equipment. They also have rotations in Pediatric Radiology and ER trauma radiology at affiliated hospitals.

The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program is in full compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)/Residency Review Committee (RRC) guidelines and has full accreditation by the ACGME.
