Application and Eligibility Criteria

Applications are to be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Each application must include the ERAS application form, curriculum vitae, three references (one of which must be from the Internal Medicine program director), and USMLE scores, confirming that all three steps have been completed. The application deadline is July 31; late or incomplete applications are not considered. Furthermore, it is essential to note that the Detroit Medical Center does not sponsor H1-B visas, but welcomes applicants holding J-1 visas.

Fellowship Research Opportunities

A significant component of the fellowship includes dedicated research training, with fellows allocated 9-12 months during their senior year for this purpose. Areas of research include sarcoidosis, complications from oncologic therapies, and various aspects of sleep medicine, with expectations that all Sleep Medicine fellows will engage in clinical research projects.
