Mercy Catholic Medical Center Program

The Surgical Residency Program at Mercy Catholic Medical Center (MCMC), Mercy Fitzgerald, offers a comprehensive training environment for aspiring surgeons. With a history dating back to 1956, the program provides a rich experience for future surgeons.

Mercy Fitzgerald is a 188-bed teaching hospital located in Darby, Pa., offering advanced acute care services in Delaware County and Southwest Philadelphia. The program conducts approximately 4,700 operative cases annually, providing a wide variety of surgical experiences for residents.

Residents at Mercy Catholic Medical Center gain exposure to various surgical specialties within the Department of Surgery, including gastrointestinal, trauma, oncologic, thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgery.
