The Canyon Vista Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program at Midwestern University is designed to provide aspiring physicians with advanced and concentrated training in the specialty of internal medicine. The program utilizes a 4+1 block system, allowing residents to engage in one-week clinics between rotations. Notably, residents can substitute up to three months of Internal Medicine Inpatient rotations with Outpatient rotations. Participating sites include Canyon Vista Medical Center and other clinical partnerships throughout the region.

• Stipends for the academic year 2024-2025 are set at $64,488 for PGY-1, $67,106 for PGY-2, $70,028 for PGY-3, and $73,223 for PGY-3 Chief.

Application Process 4

The application process for the Canyon Vista Internal Medicine Residency is competitive, with five PGY-1 positions available each year. Applicants must meet specific requirements, including:

• Graduation from an accredited Osteopathic or Allopathic Medical School in the U.S. or Canada.
• Foreign Medical Graduates must possess a valid ECFMG certificate or an unrestricted U.S. license.

Candidates must submit a completed MyERAS® application, including a personal statement, three letters of recommendation, and medical transcripts. Interviews occur from mid-December to mid-January, and candidates should not have a gap of over two years between medical school and residency.

Visa sponsorship is available for H-1B or J-1 visa types, making the program approachable for international medical graduates who are considering this residency.
