Plastic surgery - Garden City, NY | ACGME Code: 3603521058
The Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University is an integral part of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) six-year residency program held at NuHealth (Nassau University Medical Center; NUMC) in East Meadow, NY. LIPSG is the largest private and academic plastic surgery practice in the U.S., known for its experienced and innovative surgeons.
The program, fully accredited by the ACGME, offers both a traditional three-year independent residency and an integrated six-year residency track. Successful completion of the six-year program makes residents eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Led by Dr. Alexander Dagum and Dr. Aleksandra Krajewski, the program boasts a rich history of training skilled plastic surgeons. Residents receive comprehensive training in various plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery procedures. They have the opportunity to train at several institutions, including NUMC, LIPSG, Stony Brook Medicine, NYU Winthrop Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center.
The integrated residency program admits one new resident annually, with a total of six spots available. Admissions are highly competitive, attracting candidates nationwide. The program emphasizes diversity and academic excellence in its selection process.
Prospective applicants should apply through ERAS and NRMP. Matching occurs in January for a July 1 start date.
