The Stony Brook Medicine/University Hospital Diagnostic Radiology Residency program offers a unique training experience with 25 residents in total covering call at one hospital. The call frequency is described as very manageable. Residents benefit from daily case conferences and didactic lectures at noon, as well as an innovative day-float system that starts weekday calls at noon for a week-long rotation.
This program is approved for the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) program by the ACGME, with two spots available per year. Additionally, the program offers clinical and research opportunities in PET-MRI, with reimbursement for resident conference attendance and conference travel. Residents are fully reimbursed for the AIRP in R3 and have the opportunity for research collaboration and teaching.
