The Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma (OMECO/Talihina) Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to develop family physicians focused on providing comprehensive care. Residents are trained to offer evidence-based medical care in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. Rotations cover a wide range of experiences, and residents have the opportunity to train at tertiary care hospitals for certain specialties.

The program offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including paid leave, educational stipend, insurance coverage, housing options, paid dues and fees, and additional benefits like free cafeteria meals, custom lab coats, and retirement benefits. There is no minimum score requirement for COMLEX or USMLE, and applicants are evaluated based on multiple factors.

The program supports osteopathic and allopathic applicants and currently offers five positions annually. Residents typically work 60-70 hours per week and receive training in various certifications. The program covers licensure expenses and provides moonlighting opportunities for eligible residents.

The residency program emphasizes resident well-being and education, implementing policies to ensure both during the COVID-19 pandemic. While there are no sponsored visas at this time, the program offers opportunities for rotations and recommends applying early due to limited availability.
