Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (McAlester) Program

The Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (McAlester) Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to prepare residents for immediate entry into careers in Family Medicine primary care. The program is ACGME-accredited and aims to provide a well-rounded, quality training program. Graduating residents are eligible to sit for the American Board of Osteopathic Family Medicine exam.

To apply to the program, applicants must meet specific qualifications, including being a graduate of a COCA-accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine or a US LCME college of medicine with completion of all necessary prerequisites. Application requirements include an official transcript, national board scores, letters of recommendation, and a dean's letter with GPA and class ranking.

The program offers various benefits, including fully-covered individual and family medical insurance, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Residents are also provided with free breakfast and lunch at the OSU Medical Center cafeteria.

The program uses a clinic-first model with 13 blocks during the academic year, where residents spend time in their continuity clinic and on specialty rotations. The training sites for the program include OSU Health Care Center, OSU Physicians - Eastgate, Morton Comprehensive Health Services, Saint Francis Hospital, Jack C. Montgomery VA Health System, and Hillcrest Medical Center, among others.
