Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine/St VIncent's Medical Center Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine/St. Vincent's Medical Center is dedicated to graduating skilled physicians committed to lifelong learning and compassionate patient care. St. Vincent's Medical Center has an active medical staff of over 500 physicians representing a comprehensive range of specialties, providing broad clinical experiences to residents. The program has transitioned to university sponsorship by Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine.

Residents have exposure to inpatient and outpatient settings, intensive care units, subspecialty community practices, and urgent care centers. Didactic sessions, case-based discussions, and interdisciplinary conferences are integrated into the curriculum. Additionally, residents are encouraged to participate in research, undertake quality improvement projects, and collaborate with faculty members.

Application to the program is done through ERAS and National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). International medical graduates should have meaningful US clinical experience, strong interest in Internal Medicine, and are sponsored for J1 and H-1B visas. Residents are evaluated via the New Innovations online system and assigned a faculty adviser for guidance throughout training. Moonlighting opportunities are available in the third year, and residents receive a competitive salary package with additional benefits.

Residents receive a monthly housing stipend, have access to free parking, and are provided a monthly stipend for food purchase. The program provides four weeks of vacation per academic year and encourages residents to attend conferences. Social activities like welcome gatherings, graduation dinner, and intern outings are organized for residents to foster camaraderie. Residents are advised to have a car for easy access, but public transportation is available in Bridgeport. New York City is approximately 60 miles away, while Boston is around 150 miles from the St. Vincent's Medical Center.
