This Emergency Medicine Residency Program at St. Luke's University Hospital offers a comprehensive three-year ACGME-approved program at a Level 1 Trauma, Tertiary Care Medical Center, accepting 12 residents per year. Residents are exposed to a broad spectrum of pathology, managing a wide range of conditions seen in emergency medicine.

Residents in their 2nd year respond to Rapid Responses and Code Blues, managing airway interventions. Extensive training includes caring for critically ill patients, working with EM Intensivists, and having 6 months of dedicated Critical Care experience. Residents rotate at both Bethlehem and Allentown network EDs, with a combined annual volume of over 100,000 patients, and have opportunities to work at other EDs within the network.

The program emphasizes a friendly community hospital environment while preparing residents for board certification in emergency medicine. The curriculum includes an advanced airway course, medical command training, and certifications in ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and FCCS. Residents have 3 blocks of elective time for further training customization.
