The program offers support for graduates from Canadian medical schools through ECFMG-sponsored J-1 visas, meaning these fellows do not need to undertake the usual qualifying examinations to obtain their visas. However, prospective non-Canadian fellows will also require ECFMG sponsorship for J-1 visas, as no H-1B visa sponsorship is available from Stanford Health Care. Applicants must secure valid ECFMG certification, which will include passing requisite exams.
