The Trinity Health Oakland General Surgery Residency Program, in collaboration with Wayne State University, provides a comprehensive academic and clinical experience for aspiring surgeons. This 5-year ACGME-accredited program offers 10 categorical and 4 preliminary positions.

Located at Trinity Health Oakland, a Level II Trauma Center, the program emphasizes a diverse patient population and a solid foundation in general surgical skills. Residents undergo extensive training within the hospital setting, focusing on evidence-based medicine, patient-centered care, and a broad operative experience.

Application requirements include filing through ERAS, with an application deadline on October 20th. Preference is given to candidates who have graduated from medical school within the last 2 years and achieved a first-attempt score of 220 or higher on Step 1. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, green card holders, permanent residents, or possess a J-1 visa or work authorization card.
