Tripler Army Medical Center Program

The Tripler Army Medical Center Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program provides comprehensive training to residents over a 5-year program duration. The residency accepts two military residents per year and offers rotations at various medical centers apart from Tripler, including The Queen's Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center, and the Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. Additionally, there is a head and neck oncology rotation at the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Their faculty includes nine full-time, board-certified Otolaryngologists with expertise in various subspecialties. The program emphasizes academic excellence, early responsibility and autonomy, and a diverse patient population from the Pacific region, presenting a unique mix of cases. Residents also have opportunities to engage in research, humanitarian relief missions, and pursue fellowship training in various Otolaryngology subspecialties.

The training facilities are located at Tripler Army Medical Center, offering state-of-the-art care to a diverse patient population. The program organizes academic conferences, courses, and encourages medical student rotations for individuals interested in Otolaryngology.

For rotations, interested individuals need approval from the Otolaryngology residency program director and coordinator by emailing their requested dates, contact information, school details, and preference for military or non-military affiliation. Rotation coordination is facilitated through the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office at Tripler.
