Selective Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship

The Selective Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a one-year program starting on July 1 each year. This fellowship provides an extensive education in diagnostic genitourinary pathology, emphasizing a collaborative approach to the treatment of genitourinary malignancies. Alongside clinical training, the fellowship also provides research opportunities in clinical, translational, and basic research, aiming to foster future leaders in pathology.

Fellows are deeply involved in the diagnostic sign-out of various specimens, including biopsies and surgical specimens. They will receive hands-on experience with complex genitourinary specimens and participate in intraoperative frozen section consultations, enhancing their practical skills.

Research opportunities abound within the fellowship, with the expectation that each fellow will complete at least one research project during their tenure. This emphasis on research is integral to the program, aligning with MD Anderson’s mission to advance cancer care and treatment.

Requirements for Admission

Eligible candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Applicants should adhere to the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Eligibility Requirements and are encouraged to apply by contacting the fellowship program.
