The Residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Hofstra/Northwell offers a comprehensive educational framework designed to deliver in-depth clinical and surgical training encompassing all intricacies of otolaryngology. Students in the program will gain exposure to various subspecialties, including head and neck oncology, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, laryngology, and pediatric otolaryngology. The residency is accredited by the ACGME and is structured to accommodate two residents annually, totaling ten residents across a five-year training period. Cohen Children’s Medical Center, recognized as the region's only hospital exclusively dedicated to pediatric health, presents a robust platform for pediatric otolaryngology training. The facility houses specialized programs focusing on advanced pediatric head and neck cancer, hearing and speech disorders, and other pediatric otolaryngology challenges.

In addition, the Manhattan facilities—such as Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital—offer residents the chance to work in active city hospitals handling a broad spectrum of cases, from emergency care to specialized surgical procedures, including robotic surgeries. These institutions provide an extensive array of outpatient specialty services and comprehensive training modules, enhancing the residency experience.

The educational framework includes regular grand rounds, didactic lectures, and journal clubs to foster an engaging learning atmosphere complemented by interdepartmental collaboration with disciplines such as medical oncology and radiation oncology.
