This is the Adventist Health - Tulare Internal Medicine Residency Program. The residency program is a 36-month-long program consisting of a 4+2 block rotation schedule. The program is designed to comply with all ACGME Internal Medicine Review Committee requirements. The residency accepts 12 residents per year with a 4:4:4 distribution.
Applicants must have a minimum of three letters of recommendation and be five years or less since medical school graduation. U.S. citizens, green card holders, or permanent residents are eligible to apply. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered. Candidates must have passing USMLE/COMLEX scores with no more than two attempts on any of the steps. Personal statements demonstrating interest in rural internal medicine are required.
The curriculum includes inpatient and outpatient rotations, specialty rotations, and elective rotations. Residents are expected to complete each rotation as scheduled. Rotation sites include Adventist Health Tulare, Adventist Health Hanford, Adventist Health Medical Office - Hanford, Adventist Health Medical Office - Fowler, and Adventist Health Medical Office - Selma Central.
