The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program offers a comprehensive training experience with a focus on adult cardiac surgery. The program is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and provides an opportunity to work with a team of experienced cardiac and thoracic surgeons.

The program includes a variety of surgical cases such as VATS lobectomy, minimally invasive esophagectomy, tracheal resection, coronary revascularizations, aortic procedures, and more. Residents have the opportunity to participate in educational sessions throughout the week, including core curriculum conferences, clinical case conferences, and journal clubs.

The residency program is a two-year program that consists of rotations in general thoracic surgery, adult cardiac surgery, and pediatric cardiac surgery. Residents will have the chance to work at Boston Children's Hospital and gain exposure to congenital cardiac surgery.

The Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and selects residents through the National Resident Matching Program. The application deadline for all materials is February 1st.
