Broward Health is among the 10 largest public hospital systems in the United States and provides extensive subspecialty services. Broward Health North operates as a 409-bed level two trauma center, while Broward Health Medical Center is a 716-bed level one trauma center. The hospitals are conveniently situated close to the Atlantic Ocean and are within reachable distance from major locations such as Miami and the Everglades.

Program Leadership

The fellowship is guided by a committed leadership team composed of experienced physicians:

• Program Director Naaz Fatteh, MD, MPH: Dr. Fatteh is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, with 25 years of clinical experience. Her extensive training includes prestigious institutions where she has also been actively involved in residency education.
• Assistant Program Director Andrew Ryan Martin, MD: With 12 years of practice in the South Florida community, Dr. Martin offers insights from his comprehensive training, including specific interests in prosthetic joint infections and opportunistic infections associated with HIV.
• Assistant Program Director Indulekha N. Gopal, MD: Dr. Gopal brings over two decades of clinical experience to the program, having completed her fellowship at Duke University and becoming an influential figure in epidemiology and antibiotic stewardship.

Competitiveness and Application Requirements
