The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in women's health. Curriculum Overview

The fellowship spans three years, incorporating a blend of surgical practice, clinical care, and academic research. Application Process and Requirements

The program accepts one fellow per year. Candidates must have completed an accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology or urology. Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and must include an ERAS application, USMLE scores, CREOG scores, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation. Notably, the program has a requirement that candidates must have passed the Step 2 CS exam on the first attempt.

Competitiveness and Visa Support

The fellowship is considered highly competitive, with comprehensive evaluation criteria. Applicants are assessed based on academic performance, clinical experience, and personal attributes such as leadership and commitment to the field. At this time, the program does not sponsor visas, thus restricting eligibility for international medical graduates unless they have existing work authorization.
