The Family Medicine Residency Program at Mayagüez Medical Center began in July 1, 2012, and has obtained maximum accreditation from the American Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program offers three years of training in Family Medicine with six residents per level. Residents will gain exposure to care across various patient demographics, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Scientific research is an essential component of the program, offering tools to achieve research goals within the three-year training period.
