The Family Medicine Residency Program at Borinquen Medical Centers offers a comprehensive three-year training program for residents following graduation from medical school. The program is designed to prepare residents to provide high-quality care, particularly in underserved communities, and develop competencies to serve diverse populations. The program curriculum includes rotations in various specialties such as Inpatient Medicine, Behavioral Health, Obstetrics & Women's Health, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and more. They provide weekly didactic sessions, a Community Medicine Rotation, Health Systems Management Rotation, and opportunities for residents to participate in the NeighborhoodHELP program.

Application requirements for the program include submission through ERAS, a Curriculum Vitae, personal statement, three letters of recommendation, medical school transcripts, and completion of USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3. Applicants are also required to have an Employment Authorization Document to work in the U.S., obtain a valid ECFMG Certificate for International Medical Graduates, and be able to secure an unrestricted Florida Medical License.

Qualified applicants will be invited to interview with the Program Director and Core Faculty members. The interview process is considered a vital aspect of the application process to understand both the applicant and the program's approach to teaching Family Medicine.
