The Flushing Hospital Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive educational experience in a multicultural and diverse environment aimed at preparing residents for independent clinical practice or further fellowship training. Residents will have the opportunity to develop strong clinical skills through progressive responsibilities, leading to autonomy in patient care and success in achieving certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Application Requirements: - Preference given for first attempts only on Step 1 and Step 2CK with scores greater than 225 (COMLEX Level 1 and 2 greater than 495). - Welcomes applications from US allopathic and osteopathic medical schools as well as international graduates. - International applicants must qualify for ECFMG certification. - Graduation from medical school within the past five years is desirable. - United States clinical experience is preferred. - All applications must be submitted via ERAS by December 31st. - The program participates in the supplemental application program.
The program does not sponsor any type of visa and requires applicants to have US citizenship, permanent residency, or work authorization.
The Internal Medicine Residency Program has 54 residents, 43 categorical and 11 preliminary year residents, and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
The program focuses on developing residents who are caring, competent, ethical, intellectually curious, and passionate about medicine, preparing them for successful fellowship training or entry into medical practice.
