Jamaica Hospital’s Psychiatry Residency Program is a fully accredited, four-year training program located within the culturally diverse community of Queens, New York. Additional rotations include one month in the Chemical Dependency Unit and four months in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. Furthermore, two months are dedicated to Neurology 3.

PGY-2 Year

The second year focuses on advanced evaluations and treatment of inpatient psychiatric patients, with five months dedicated to Inpatient Psychiatry. A one-month rotation in Forensic Psychiatry, as well as segments in Geriatric Psychiatry and Community Psychiatry, enriches the training experience. The fourth year allows for further specialization, with residents rotating within areas they’ve previously encountered and continuing outpatient treatment.
