The Flushing Hospital Medical Center Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is a four-year program fully accredited by the ACGME and approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The program aims to train exceptional clinicians committed to providing compassionate and evidence-based care for women. Residents benefit from a diverse urban patient population in New York City, exposure to various specialties within Obstetrics and Gynecology, high-volume obstetrical and gynecological surgery experience, training in laparoscopy and robotic surgery, simulation training, and exposure to board-certified providers in various subspecialties.
The program emphasizes a nurturing educational environment and aims to help residents find their passions within the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Mengyang Sun, the Program Director, is dedicated to continual program improvements and emphasizes preparing residents for diverse career paths in the field.
The curriculum provides a comprehensive clinical and didactic training schedule that adheres to ACGME requirements and includes exposure to various subspecialties such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Reproductive Endocrinology.
To apply, candidates must submit their application through ERAS, including the common ERAS application form, curriculum vitae, personal statement, letters of recommendation, medical school transcript, USMLE or COMLEX scores, Dean's letter, and ECFMG certificate if applicable. Applicants are required to have graduated from medical school within the last five years, be eligible to work in the U.S., and have strong letters of recommendation from OB/GYN physicians.
